Silverstream Alpaca Stud was established in the year 2000 and specialises in producing fine, white huacaya alpacas for the export market.
Today Silverstream genetics can be found in most parts of Europe, Japan and Taiwan.
Silverstream animals have won every major alpaca show in New Zealand including three National titles and supreme champion animal of show at the 2007 NZ Royal Show in Christchurch.
We welcome inquiries from both local and international buyers.
Silverstream has sourced animals from Peru, the USA and Australia over many years creating a wide diversity of genetics. Many of the bloodlines will be well- known to established alpaca breeders both in New Zealand and Europe.
Our catch phrase ‘ Silverstream for Dam Good Dams” is still as valid today as it was when we first started importing. We have always been prepared to pay top dollar for the right animal.
The handle of the fleece and the lack of guard hair have been uppermost in our minds when selecting animals for purchase. Our show successes are testament to the quality of our herd with over 70 supreme champion wins at major shows throughout New Zealand.
All animals are registered on the International Alpaca Registry (IAR) and are of a high standard of quality.
Silverstream offer free delivery to any property within a 50km radius of Kaiapoi.
All animals will be dosed and given a health clearance before delivery.

Winning Supreme Champion Animal of Show (beating all livestock) at the NZ Royal Show 2007 and Supreme Champion at the National Alpaca Show in 2007 launched our animal export business and today Silverstream animals and their progeny are to be found in most parts of Europe, Japan and Taiwan.
Since then Silverstream animals have won over 70 supreme champion titles and over 300 age group championships and the enthusiasm for showing is not finished yet.

Silverstream Alpaca Stud is a licensed alpaca exporter and is registered with the Ministry for Primary Industries. Silverstream operate three MPI approved quarantine facilities – these are the only publicly available quarantine facilities available in the South Island for the export of alpacas.
Silverstream have exported alpacas to the EU, UK, Taiwan, Australia and Japan.
Since commencing alpaca exports in 2007, we have moved over 700 alpacas without incident.
Currently there are protocols in place for the export of alpacas to the EU including Scandinavia as well as Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, USA and Australia.
